Foreknowledge

It is very common to misunderstand Foreknowledge in the context of Romans 8:29-30. It does not mean that God decided to save someone because God knew they would believe in Christ Jesus, have faith, believe, and chose to accept his free gift. If so, salvation would be of our merit and not totally the grace of God.

God naturally has foreknowledge of all things because of his attributes. He is God and knows all things past, present and future. He did not give out his grace because of anything He knew we would do, think, choose, or decide. In this context foreknowledge means that God has always known who his children were, since the beginning. “For whom he did foreknow” means “For his children which He has always known”. One reason for this distinction is that there are others who are not considered the children of God, who are of a different seed. And there are many called but few chosen.

The important idea to understand about God knows all things, especially his children, especially you. He will insure that his children inherit the kingdom of heaven. So do not be worried.
